There is a spectrum of music that pleases me easily… The same way that there is an aesthetic that also keep me hooked. And thanks god it happens that Bludhoney Records matches them both. Music wise is all about certain ambient, synth, dream-wave music. Aesthetic wise it has to do with sci-fi, futurism and Japanese echoes. So as usual, first it was the images… then I thought I might enjoy this, and sure, I enjoyed the music (that you can stream completely in their bandcamp, thanks!). Special mention to the cool cassette editions! Yes… I know, it’s kind of a trend nowadays, but this people knows how to make them specially attractive, including special limited editions from each release.

If you like labels such as Dream Catalog and Terminal Dream (dream, dream, dream…) I’m sure you gonna enjoy this one sooooo much! My favorite artists / releases in the label are: Rashida Prime, w u s o and Disasterpeace (of course).

Released August 12, 2016. Music by Rashida Prime. Artwork by KOJA.

w u s o 命‘s acclaimed “Lonely Streets” is the first in his cyberpunk trilogy of dystopian soundtracks, introducing a universe that would be further explored in its follow-up “Hold It Together” (BLUD-06). The rich atmosphere on display throughout “Lonely Streets” is apparent immediately, immersing listeners in it’s grimy, desolate textures and dreamlike descending melodies. The album provides a perfect soundtrack to nocturnal city streets, evoking the flickering of neon lights and the distant hum of the subway. w u s o 命 effectively captures the melancholic solitude of urban life with this essential addition to the BLUD collection of hypnagogic synth.

Released June 23, 2017. All music by w u s o 命. Artwork by Martyr.

CoastalDives‘ stunning debut LP “All Small Bodies” serves as the official soundtrack to the 2017 titular short film directed by Jennifer Reeder. The album consists of gorgeous, minimalistic synth compositions that contrast harsh, brooding soundscapes. CoastalDives gracefully guides listeners through fifteen tracks brimming with atmosphere and melody, subtly twisting and transforming at every turn. The fluid pacing strengthens many moments on “All Small Bodies” with a fleeting and ethereal quality that perfectly embodies the hypnagogic synth of the BLUD collection.

Released November 10, 2017. Music by CoastalDives. Artwork by KOJA.
