This week has been musically pretty exciting, and I just say that because this week I found several albums that kept me hooked. I could review all them in one post but I think each of them deserve proper attention. So, let’s go with the first one: the new album from Justin Walter for Kranky record label. I didn’t know Walter’s work but I had a pretty good reference with Kranky being the house of artists such as Steve Hauschildt and Tim Hecker, among others. Now “Unseen Forces” goes within my addiction for ambient electronic music mixed with post-jazz, specially wind instruments, in this case trumpet, which somehow reminds me to Arve Henriksen. So, if you feel identified with any of those artists, I’m sure you gonna love this album as much as I do.

New album “Unseen Forces” Out April 21 via kranky.

“The murky depths of low-range tones are like subconscious murmurs. This kind of music speaks in so much depth, more than the imaginary space that an echo brings, or “atmospheres” built with samples and noise. Justin Walter’s music is bassy, perplexing and intimate.” – Brainwashed.

“There is a jarring restlessness that grapples, tosses and turns on Walter’s music, sounds caught in the nocturnal grasp between blissful reveries and palpitating terror.” – Peel Apart.
